Before his death, Chris Cornell wrote and recorded a song called “The Promise” for the Terry George-directed film of the same name. Set in the wake of the Armenian genocide, the film starred Christian Bale and Oscar Isaac. Now, the official music video for the song has been released. The new video features clips of Cornell performing the song, interspersed with footage from different refugee crises recorded in Libya, Syria, and other war-torn countries. Watch the video below. It was released today, on World Refugee Day, by Cornell’s previous request. All proceeds from “The Promise” will go to the Chris & Vicky Cornell Foundation, which focuses on protecting vulnerable children.
